Sold If you've been following Back In The Day Motor Company, LLC for any time now, you know we specialize in vintage International Harvester light-line pickups--here's the latest and it's already one of our favorites!  This 1955 IH R100 is the lightest-duty offering from International in the early/mid 1950s and this particular example is, hands-down the most RUST-FREE example of an R-Series we have ever seen.  This truck hails from Texas where it was purchased by the original owner in 1955.  The truck was carefully and sparingly used and today shows only 26,920 miles driven since new!  This truck has NEVER BEEN RESTORED and has only been subjected to one amateur repaint in the original light-blue color with contrasting Magnolia Ivory grille panel.  The paint shines nicely, though there's moderate orange-peel in the finish that should be polished out.

Turning the key in this time-capsule truck takes the operator back to a simpler day in 1955 when this truck was new and still seems nearly new today with it's original interior upholstery panels and seat coverings.  The original numbers-matching Silver Diamond 220 cid inline 6-cylinder engine whispers to life and powers the truck quietly and confidently down the road with power transferred to the rear wheels through the original 3-speed column-shifted manual transmission and orignal rearend.  The brakes stop the truck with equal certainty. There's no smoke, knocks, ticks or other unwanted activities going on with this truck.  The short, stepside bed is rust-free and nearly perfect with only a few minor 'battle scars' to be seen.

Driving this truck is pleasurable with no squeaks, rattles or other annoyances.  The steering is tight, yet effortless and the acceleration is smooth and stopping is certain and true.

This is truly a time-capsule awaiting it's new owners pride of ownership.  Call today to set up your viewing and a test'll want to take this one home soon!
